The 2009 NCAA® Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship will be held in Washington D.C. from April 9th - 11th. This will mark the first time our nation’s Capital has hosted a Division I NCAA Championship event.

Sold out for the ninth year in a row, the Frozen Four® will be held at the Verizon Center and is co-hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy and the Greater Washington Sports Alliance.

The high attendance for the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the overall popularity of the sport has indeed made our Nation’s Capital a bona fide “hockeytown”. During your stay, we suggest appreciating the city’s classic points of interest. The Washington monument, US Capitol building and the exterior grounds of the White House are always among some of the most visited spots while in DC. Along with these cornerstones, we recommend visiting any of the Smithsonian museums and exploring the various entertainment centers the city has to offer.

On Friday, the day between the semi-final and final games, Verizon Center will play host to the Friday Night at the Frozen Four Skills Challenge. Ancillary Frozen Four® activities will take place in various locations including the Washington Capitals’ practice facility, Kettler Capitals IcePlex.

Come and enjoy the sights of Washington, DC and witness the best collegiate hockey has to offer during the Frozen Four® Championships this April!
